In general, most tourists stays at Kowloon and the northern edge of Hong Kong Island as these are the heart of Hong Kong with very good public transportation network. Staying at a local’s home is becoming a trend, the two biggest home stay websites airbnb and HomeAway also available in Hong Kong. If you are really looking for a local experience, beware some of them are hostel instead of local homes. Also, there aren’t many reviews, maybe visitors prefer hotels?
